Carbon Studio S.A. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to safeguarding any personal information that you share with us while playing Crimen – Mercenary Tales or using related services. 1. Scope & Definitions
This Privacy Policy applies to all parts of Crimen – Mercenary Tales, including the game itself as well as websites, community spaces, customer support channels, and other related services (together called the “Services”).

- Platform Features refers to tools and services provided by Meta Quest and other platforms, such as login and entitlement checks, friend lists, achievements, in-game voice chat, matchmaking, in-app purchases, party systems, and other APIs. - Account Identifiers means unique identifiers given to you by the platform you use (for example a Meta User ID or an Epic Online Services ID). These identifiers allow us and the platform to know who you are when you play.
- User Profile refers to the information visible about you in-game and on the platform, such as your display name, avatar and any other public profile details.
- User-Generated Content (UGC) means any content created or shared by you while using the Services such as in-game names, screenshots, recording or other contributions.
- Retention means how long we store certain types of data before deleting or anonymizing them.
- Processing means any operation performed on your personal data, such as collection, storage, use, transmission or deletion.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
This section is provided in compliance with Meta’s Data Use Checkup requirements.
We collect personal information necessary to provide Crimen – Mercenary Tales functionality. Below is a clear list of what we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it:
- User ID & Display Name (Meta Account Identifier)
- Collected: From Meta account login, while launching the game
- Used for: Verifying ownership and entitlement to the game, authenticating the player account, saving and loading gameplay progress, associating achievements and gameplay statistics with the correct player
- Retention: stored while your account remains active or until you request deletion (Section 4).
- User Profile
- Collected: From Meta account login, while launching the game
- Used for: Displaying player identity in-game, allowing social features, content sharing and streaming. We do not collect private profile informations, social graph data, friend lists, email addresses, real names, or any additional profile fields beyond those explicitly provided above.
- Retention: stored while your account remains active or until you request deletion (Section 4).
- Deep Linking
- Collected: Deep Links may be triggered by platform-level achievement systems to open specific game states or contexts required to validate or display achievement progress.
- Used for: We use Meta platform Deep Linking functionality solely to enable and correctly synchronize in-game achievements. Deep Linking does not collect, transmit, or store any additional personal data beyond the platform-provided account identifiers already described in this Privacy Policy. Deep Links are used exclusively for gameplay-related purposes and are not used for advertising, analytics, or tracking outside of the game experience.
- Retention: stored while your account remains active or until you request deletion (Section 4).
When you launch the game, we use Meta Platform APIs to retrieve your Meta User ID and public profile information. This data is stored only as long as required to provide gameplay functionality.
3. Purposes of Processing
We only collect and use data from Meta platform features to provide gameplay-related functionality. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or combine it with unrelated third-party data.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To authenticate your account and verify entitlement to the game.
- To display your profile and activity to friends and other players.
- To maintain gameplay features such as leaderboards, achievements, and progress tracking.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid law enforcement requests.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
4. Data Retention & Deletion Requests
- Data is kept only as long as necessary for its purpose or as legally required.

Deletion process:

- Include your Meta User ID or display name so we can identify your account.
- We will verify your identity.
- Once verified, we will delete your account-related data (progress, identifiers, gameplay stats).
- You will receive confirmation within 30 days.
Note: Purchase history and some platform-level data may still be stored by Meta Platforms, Inc. under their own Privacy Policy.
5. Third Parties & Sharing
We do not share Horizon platform data with third parties except where required to enable the platform features (e.g., entitlement checks) or comply with legal obligations.
We may share necessary information with:
- Platform providers (like Meta or Epic) to enable their platform services.
- Law enforcement or authorities when required by law.
- We never sell your personal information to advertisers or other third parties.
Please note that certain data (such as account identifiers, purchases, and platform-level activity) is also collected and processed directly by Meta Platforms, Inc., under Meta’s own Privacy Policy (https://www.meta.com/legal/privacy-policy).
