Privacy Policy – Hunt Together

Carbon Studio S.A. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to safeguarding any personal information that you share with us while playing Hunt Together or using related services. This Privacy Policy explains in detail what kind of data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have as a user. By using the Services, You automatically agree to the collection and use of information according to this Privacy Policy.


1. Scope & Definitions

This Privacy Policy applies to all parts of Hunt Together, including the game itself as well as websites, community spaces, customer support channels, and other related services (together called the “Services”). 

  • Personal Data means information that directly identifies you (such as your name or account ID) or can reasonably be linked back to you.

  • Platform Features refers to tools and services provided by Meta Quest and other platforms, such as login and entitlement checks, friend lists, achievements, in-game voice chat, matchmaking, in-app purchases, party systems, and other APIs. These may involve the use and processing of your personal data.

  • Account Identifiers means unique identifiers given to you by the platform you use (for example a Meta User ID or an Epic Online Services ID). These identifiers allow us and the platform to know who you are when you play.

  • User Profile refers to the information visible about you in-game and on the platform, such as your display name, avatar and any other public profile details.

  • Matchmaking means the process of grouping players together in multiplayer sessions based on factors such as skill level, region and availability.

  • In-App Purchases (IAP) refers to any digital goods, content or features you buy through the platform store (e.g., Meta Quest Store). We do not handle your payment details; we only receive confirmation data to deliver your purchased items.

  • User-Generated Content (UGC) means any content created or shared by you while using the Services such as in-game names, screenshots, recording or other contributions.

  • Retention means how long we store certain types of data before deleting or anonymizing them.

  • Processing means any operation performed on your personal data, such as collection, storage, use, transmission or deletion.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

This section is provided in compliance with Meta’s Data Use Checkup requirements.
We collect only the minimum personal information necessary to provide Hunt Together’s functionality. Below is a clear list of what we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it:

  • User ID & Display Name (Meta Account Identifier)

    • Collected: From Meta account login.

    • Used for: Verify entitlement, authenticate account, show your profile, enable progress/leaderboards.

    • Retention: stored while your account remains active or until you request deletion (Section 4).

  • Friends List (IDs, display names, online status)

    • Collected: From Meta when you use friend/party features.

    • Used for: inviting friends, showing availability, joining parties, and enabling multiplayer.

    • Retention: kept only while using the feature; not stored permanently.

  • Parties & Session Data

    • Collected: during gameplay, information about players in your party (such as IDs and names).

    • Used for: enabling shared matchmaking, gameplay sessions, and in-game voice chat.

    • Retention: kept only during the session; deleted afterward.

  • Invites & Deep Linking Data

    • Collected: when invitations are sent or links are clicked.

    • Used for: allowing you to join specific sessions or game modes directly.

    • Retention: kept only during sessions and discarded after the session ends.

  • Matchmaking Data (skill level, region, network availability)

    • Collected: during multiplayer matchmaking.

    • Used for: grouping you with suitable players to ensure fair and stable matches.

    • Retention: kept only during matchmaking; deleted afterward.

  • In-App Purchase Confirmation Data (item purchased, timestamp, success/failure)

    • Collected: when you make purchases through the Meta Store.

    • Used for: delivering purchased content to your account.

    • Retention: stored while your account remains active; you can request the deletion of the data (Section 4) but remember that purchase history is also retained by Meta under their own privacy policy.

  • Voice & Chat Data

    • Collected: during multiplayer communication.

    • Used for: transmitting your voice and text messages in real time so you can talk and chat with other players.

    • Retention: not stored by us; only processed during the communication session.

  • Gameplay & Usage Data (session length, results, statistics, preferences, progress)

    • Collected: while you play the game.

    • Used for: saving your progress, enabling features like leaderboards, improving game balance, and troubleshooting.

    • Retention: stored while your account remains active; deleted upon request (Section 4).

  • Device & Technical Data (device type, VR headset model, SDK versions, temporary IP address, diagnostic logs)

    • Collected: from you, automatically when you run the game.

    • Used for: troubleshooting, ensuring compatibility, and improving stability.

    • Retention: stored temporarily for diagnostics; deleted automatically after troubleshooting is complete.

  • User-Generated Content (UGC)

    • Collected: from you, when you create or share content in the game (e.g., in-game names, screenshots, recordings).

    • Used for: displaying content in-game and to other players.

    • Retention: remains available until you delete it or request removal (Section 4).


3. Purposes of Processing

We only collect and use data from Meta platform features to provide gameplay-related functionality. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or combine it with unrelated third-party data.

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate your account and verify entitlement to the game.

  • To enable multiplayer features such as matchmaking, friends, parties, and invitations.

  • To deliver digital items you purchase through the Meta Quest Store.

  • To display your profile and activity to friends and other players.

  • To transmit your voice and text communications in real time.

  • To maintain gameplay features such as leaderboards, achievements, and progress tracking.

  • To improve stability, balance, and performance of the game.

  • To ensure moderation, player safety, and prevent cheating or fraud.

  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid law enforcement requests.

  • To provide customer support when you contact us.


4. Data Retention & Deletion Requests

  • Data is kept only as long as necessary for its purpose or as legally required.
  • Temporary session data (matchmaking, invites, deep links) is deleted automatically after sessions end.
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting: contact@carbonstudio.pl.


    Deletion process:
  • Send us a request using the subject line “Data Deletion Request – Hunt Together.”
  • Include your Meta User ID or display name so we can identify your account.
  • We will verify your identity.
  • Once verified, we will delete your account-related data (progress, identifiers, gameplay stats).
  • You will receive confirmation within 30 days.

Note: Purchase history and some platform-level data may still be stored by Meta Platforms, Inc. under their own Privacy Policy.


5. Third Parties & Sharing

We do not share Horizon platform data with third parties except where required to enable the platform features (e.g., matchmaking or entitlement checks) or comply with legal obligations.

We may share necessary information with:

  • Platform providers (like Meta or Epic) to enable their platform services.

  • Hosting and analytics services that help us run and improve the game.

  • Law enforcement or authorities when required by law.

  • We never sell your personal information to advertisers or other third parties.

Please note that certain data (such as account identifiers, purchases, and platform-level activity) is also collected and processed directly by Meta Platforms, Inc., under Meta’s own Privacy Policy (https://www.meta.com/legal/privacy-policy)


6. Security Measures

We take your data protection seriously. We apply industry-standard safeguards, such as encryption, strict access controls, and secure server environments to help prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or loss of your personal data.


7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law.

  • Gameplay statistics and progression data are retained while your account remains active.

  • Technical logs and diagnostic data are retained temporarily for troubleshooting.

  • Temporary data (e.g., matchmaking session data, Deep Linking info) is deleted after the session ends.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your country of residence, you may have legal rights such as:

  • Accessing, correcting, or updating your personal data.

  • Requesting deletion of your personal data.

  • Restricting or objecting to certain types of processing.

  • Requesting a copy of your data in a portable format.

  • Withdrawing your consent at any time if we rely on consent.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of digital consent as defined by local law (for example, under 13 in the U.S., 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children without verified parental consent. If you think we may have unintentionally collected such data, please contact us immediately so we can take action.


10. International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be stored or processed outside your country of residence, including in countries with different data protection standards. Whenever we transfer data internationally, we use legally required safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.


11. Third-Party Links & Services

Our Services may include links to third-party websites or integrations with third-party platforms (such as Discord). We do not control and are not responsible for how these services handle your personal data. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.


12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law.

  • The most recent version will always be available on this page, with an updated “Last Updated” date.
  • If changes are significant, we will give you additional notice (such as an in-game message or email).

13. Compliance with Meta’s Horizon Developer Data Use Policy

We handle Horizon platform data in strict compliance with Meta’s Horizon Developer Data Use Policy. This means we only request the minimum necessary data, use it only for disclosed gameplay-related purposes, and provide clear ways for you to exercise your rights.
